Walt Disney to Let Go of 4k Staff in Second Round of Layoffs

Popular entertainment and media company Walt Disney is reportedly in the process of laying off thousands of employees this week.

According to a Reuters report, up to 4,000 jobs globally will be affected in the second round of layoffs aimed at helping Walt Disney save an estimated $5.5 billion. The company is also working towards trimming its workforce by 7,000.

The job cuts will affect Walt Disney’s business segments. They include Disney Entertainment, ESPN, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products.

However, the cuts are not expected to affect hourly employees in the company’s various parks and resorts.
